Caught Somewhere in Time--RealAudio
Isn't it amazing how bands back in the '80s cranked out solid albums year after year, and now we have to
wait three or four years (or more) for albums from some bands? Pitiful...
Anyway, this is yet another solid Maiden album---which
they had no trouble producing on a regular schedule. A little retooling with the sound, as synthesizers are added to the
mix on this one. However, it's still the fast-paced Maiden sound, with the thumping bass and intricate lead guitars. Nice metal
music, as the band changes a little with the times, and lays down new territory for others.
Highlights include the fabulous title
track, the flowing and etched "Wasted Years," "Stranger in a Strange Land," and "Alexander the Great".
HOT CHOPS--When "Caught Somewhere in Time" kicks in (about 20-30 secs into the song), your stereo has
experienced sheer power. Sit back and crank it up. Also, Adrian Smith's solo in "Wasted Years" is overlooked, but showcases
his talent and his (more specifically) emotion as a guitarist.
