The Trooper--RealAudio
This album really got Maiden established in the States, and the gallop is featured in full force. The distinctive Maiden sound is clear---it can easily be seen where bands such as Helloween and Iced Earth were influenced by it. Heavy, straight-forward, and no nonsense metal, the way it's supposed to be. The only part that's a little off is the actual sound (guitars and mixing), and I say that only because the band improves on it for the next album.
Highlights include the bottom-heavy "Revelations," the slow-burner "Flight of Icarus," and the rapid-fire of "Die With Your Boots On" and "The Trooper".
HOT CHOPS--The entire fast-pace of "The Trooper". If you can sing at all, then learn the words to this song and belt it out with all your force while zooming down the interstate. What a rush!
