Iron Maiden--A Real Live One (1993)
Rating--7.0

A live disc from the 'Fear Of The Dark' tour, showcasing songs from 1986-1993. The sound isn't quite as mixed as well as 'Live After Death,' but will suffice. Although a decent track selection, most come from 'Fear Of The Dark'. The songs were recorded at various shows in Europe, where the crowd really shows their loyalty! Most of the eleven tracks are quite good, yet some just don't have the punch to sound great live. "Wasting Love" and "From Here To Eternity" are great songs, but just lack the energy we've all come to expect from a Maiden show. The best songs are those the crowd really get into, such as 'Somewhere In Time's' "Heaven Can Wait" and the great sing along "The Evil That Men Do". Dickinson's little quirks in between songs are a nice touch, and Harris's bass thumping is as tight as ever.
A decent ride, but maybe for true Maiden fans only.
HOT CHOPS: The crowd sets the mood on "Fear Of The Dark," singing along to Harris's moving bass lines in the intro. An excellent, chilling atmosphere...
