Hallowed Be Thy Name--RealAudio
The cassette version of this album contains five more songs than the CD. I was hoping that when Castle
Records re-released all the Maiden stuff a couple of years back they'd release the new CD as the same version as the original
cassette, but no such luck. Oh well...
The beauty about this live disc is that several of the songs are actually much more
powerful here than in their original forms. Among them-- "Hallowed Be Thy Name," "Revelations," "The Trooper," and "The
Number of the Beast". Also, this is the first time Dickinson has been recorded singing any of the Di'Anno songs, and they're
updated quite nicely. The album was recorded in Long Beach, CA, but I almost wish it had been done in Europe. Back in the
80's the U.S. had a fairly respectable metal following, but it's never really been like the loyalty and energy across the sea. Again,
oh well...
HOT CHOPS--All of "Hallowed Be Thy Name". One of my all-time favorite live songs. Extremely, extremely
powerful. Bruce singing that intro! On the video, he's sitting up an a platform, hanging his head down low, almost in prayer.
Now that is getting into the song, full emotion. Great stuff...
