Iron Maiden--Best of the Beast (1996)
Rating--8.9

Come to papa! Two full discs of Maiden classics? Hell yeah! The selections start with the self-titled debut and cruise through The X Factor.
It's all here: "Wasted Years," "The Trooper," "Hallowed Be Thy Name," "The Number Of The Beast"---classic after bass-thumping classic. The discs showcase the three succesful singers of IM, with most coming from the more popular Dickinson reign. Two new tracks include the Blaze sung "Virus" (which isn't half bad) and a live version of "Afraid To Shoot Strangers".
As a bonue, there is a insert booklet with just about every picture of Eddie one has ever laid eyes on, including album covers, t-shirts, and single art work. A time-line, lyrics, and tour diary notes are also included.
You owe it to yourself to pick this one up, oh ye Eddie-faithful. A great career-overview of one of metal's godfathers...
