The Evil That Men Do--RealAudio
More synth work, but once again an extremely solid Maiden offering. Some disagree, but I like this album
better than the previous release. The sound is pretty much the same as on "SIT," but there are more melodies evident.
Dickinson's singing is as strong as ever, and it lends to that "melodic" feeling shared by Helloween,
Hammerfall, and others.
Some truly great songs, including the soaring vocal chorus of
"Moonchild," the mood-setting "Infinite Dreams," and the rolling tracks "The Evil That Men Do" and "Only the Good Die Young".
As events would turn out, this would be Adrian Smith's final Maiden album... before reuniting with the band (along with Bruce)
for 'Brave New World'.
HOT CHOPS--Overlooked as a Maiden contribution, the acoustic guitar work at the end of "The Prophecy"
(starting at 4:00) is simplistic yet emotional. Would have been a great basis for an entire song. Also, the synth work at the
beginning of "Moonchild" is moving and mysterious. Finally, the intro-chorus (bridge) in "The Evil That Men Do" has some
great Dickinson work in it.
