In Flames--Clayman (2000/Nuclear Blast)
Rating--8.3
Pinball Map--RealAudio
The best of both worlds in terms of music, as the distortion is absolutely ripping, and at the same time there are tons of melodies, leads, and rhythms. The majority of
the vocals continue to be of the black/intense variety, though some clean sections are occasionally intermixed. "Melodic" death at its best.
The strong and shifting
"Bullet Ride" opens the offering, and "Pinball Map" is another ripper. Check out the stalk of "Only For the Weak". Nasty! Other good cuts include "*As the Future
Repeats Today," "Suburban Me," and the wide-open title track.
