California style funk/metal/rock, though there are few musical comparisons in the metal world. Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt is considered one of the top guitarists in the league. The band produced four albums before spliting up in early '97. Singer Gary Cherone would move on to Van Halen, with Nuno following a solo career.
