The Final Step--TFS (1999/TFS)
Rating--7.1
A shifting of atmospheric music to moments of sharp distortion, whereas the vocals actually move between three different
mediums: there's some deep, almost doomy vox; a melwing Alice Cooper feel; and even some black/death metal screeches.
The band does best when sticking to the clean vocals, however.
"Product of..." has a good and heavy flow, and "Not to Touch the Earth" is energetic as well.
"Voices of the Grave" hints
at 'Seasons'-era Slayer, and "The Unknown" is a slower song, and moves between light and heavy moments.
Two of the top
spots show up in the forms of "On Death's Wings" and "House of Lies," the last two tracks on the disc. The first has an etched
note rhythm, while the latter is heavy, energetic, and flowing.
