Hammerfall - Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken (2005/Nuclear Blast)
Rating - 8.2

This is more of the solid (if unspectacular) Power Metal that Hammerfall has forged throughout their career, with tight distortion and thick-vocal choruses again being the norm. This won't be a top release in 2005, but is still good enough to please most PM fans.
The swift Saxon-like pace of "Fury of the Wild" is accentuated by some great high-end vocal moments by Cans. Solid verses appear in "Blood Bound," with other good tracks being "Hammer of Justice," "Born to Rule," and "Take the Black." "Knights of the 21st Century" is the 12-plus minute disc-closer, and has a chunky frame once it gets past a spoken (and somewhat cheesy) "monster" intro.
This isn't the best the band has to offer, but it's consistent enough to keep them employed and eating well.
