Helloween--Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 (1988)
Rating--8.6
Eagle Fly Free--RealAudio
A bit of a more melodic approach in places, as the songs take on more personality instead of pure power. It remains solid, heavy metal,
though.
Lead track "Eagle Fly Free" is hard hitting, with a classic Priest-like riff. The impressive fret action
will be repeated throughout the album, as "You Always Walk Alone," "Dr. Stein," and "March of Time" all shred with conviction.
Other high points include the soaring chorus of "Save Us," plus the speed melody heaven of lead single "I Want Out". Closing
out the album is one the band's all-time melodic highlights, the epic-like "Keeper of the Seven Keys"---a song that hearkens back to
the atmospheric best of Iron Maiden and Dio...
HOT CHOPS: Check out the chug/pause/chug right after the first chorus of "March of Time". Pure European precision!
