Helmet--Aftertaste (1997/Interscope)
Rating--6.6
Grungy metal, with bits of Hardcore as well. Real chunky, with lots of bar chord nastiness. A slight
My Sister's Machine feel at times...
"Pure" has a nice chunky groove, and both "Diet Aftertaste" and "(High) Visibility"
are steady and flowing. "Renovation," "Exactly What You Wanted," and "It's Easy to Get Bored" all make the cut.
Nothing particular outstanding about this type of music or this release, but it's constant and steady--and the style has its fans.
