Hagar's big solo seller.
A rip-roaring tune in "I Can't Drive 55," and sort of a pre '5150'-era Van Halen feel to both
"Swept Away" and "Rock Is In My Blood." The disc sort of turns to average rock after that, though, as those three songs open
the album.
It should be noted that the success of "55" had a lot to do with Hagar getting the vocal slot in VH, as with its
airplay (MTV at the time; still on radio today) he pretty much cemented himself as the top hard rock "solo" artist of the time... And
was actually a good choice for VH, whether we wanted Dave back or not... :-(
