God Dethroned--Bloody Blasphemy (1999/Metal Blade)
Rating--6.8

A black/death unit from Holland, with vocals that occasionally mix between the two styles. Fast music, with fairly defined and sharp distortion. At times there are hints at a Slayer feel, and overall the band approaches units such as At the Gates, but never fully attains the technical aspects and talents of that sharper fare.
The driving "Under the Golden Wings of Death" is one of the disc's top spots, and other solid numbers include the fast "Nocturnal" and the good rhythm of "A View of Ages".
More decent cuts show up in the form of "Serpent King," the title track, and the atmospheric and somewhat melodic "Soul Capture 1562".
