Fastway--Waiting For the Roar (1986)
Rating--6.4

Keyboards?? Ugh. In a move that effectively removes the majority of the crunch from Fastway's metal punch, they add keys-- and end up sounding a bit like the watered-down Quiet Riot (third album) in the process. Thankfully, the weakest spots are concentrated on the first few tracks, and the band picks up steam towards the end.
Both "Back Door Man" and the title track are extremely solid with heavy blues/metal riffs like those that dotted the debut, and a steady pace keeps "Move Over" going strong.
"Little By Little" is a slower track, but heavy. Also, the thick chorus of "The World Waits For You" is somewhat redeeming.
Some good tracks, and a must for the Fastway/Dave King fan, but definitely the weak link in the (King-led) catalog.
