Forbidden - Forbidden Evil (1988/Relativity)
Rating - 8.0

'Forbidden Evil,' the band's debut, is arguably the strongest offering of this Bay Area thrash unit's career. There are plenty of tasty chops and thrashy moments to be had, as musically the band is reminiscent of Annihilator and some early Testament.
"Through Eyes of Glass" is a pure rip-fest, and the title track is another galloping treat. Both "Feel No Pain" and "Follow Me" are good, and while the songs "Chalice of Blood" and "Off the Edge" feature strong music, the actual songwriting and blending of the music/vocals is a bit below par on those two.
All in all, this is one of the main releases of the Bay Area scene, even though it was emerged towards the end of the movement.
