Firehouse--3 (1995)
Rating--6.2

The songs are still somewhat catchy, but the heaviness and attitude continues to slip. Sort of a Mr. Big approach to light rockers in places as well, though the band quickly finds out that's not its strength.
Opener "Love is a Dangerous Thing" is good, and "What's Wrong" shows signs of the old chunkiness---but the pace is just too slow.
"Get a Life" is swift and strong, and the nasty "Temptation" reminds of 'Pull'-era Winger.
Both "Somethin' 'Bout Your Body" and "Trying to Make a Living" are decent listens, but won't draw you back too many times.
I caught the band on tour last summer in a local club, and they promised a new album in late '98 that would "return to the metal sound of our debut". Following 'Category 5,' we're still waiting...
