Falconer - Chapters From a Vale Forlorn (2002/Metal Blade)
Rating - 8.1

The band's sophomore release is very similar in overall style, but falls a bit short in overall quality. It's not quite as crackling as the debut, in terms of songwriting and spontaneity. Still an above-average power metal disc, however.
Opener "Decadence of Dignity" features a nice galloping pace, and all of "Enter the Glade," "We Sold Our Homesteads," and "Stand in Veneration" are good. "Lament of a Minstrel" is a thicker track, and "For Life and Liberty" is a top highlight.
