Flotsam and Jetsam--Unnatural Selection (1999/Metal Blade) Rating--7.4

Similar in overall sounds to the previous offering, in terms of guitars, production, etc. However, not as solid in the songwriting department. No tracks really stand out, making this a steady-- but unspectacular-- release.
"Promise Keepers" has some good muted stutter chops, and each of "Dream Scape," "Brain Dead," and "Way to Go" is steady.
Solid chords back up "Liquid Noose," while fast riff chops help out "Falling".
The band in no way sells out or backs down with this release---they just need to reload and refocus with the song and riff writing on the next one.
