Enuff Z'Nuff--Animals With Human Intelligence (1993)
Rating--7.9
Master of Pain--RealAudio
Easily the heaviest EZ release, and as a direct result it ends up being the strongest as well. With distortion much along
the lines of Lillian Axe and 'Dog Eat Dog'-era Warrant, the songs come
across as crisp and biting. When blended together with the smooth vocal harmonies that have become a trademark of the band,
a solid median is found.
A mean and heavy slide riff powers "Master of Pain," and a number of other tracks mix sharp
chops with good grooves: "Superstitious," "Mary Anne Lost Her Baby," "Rock N' World," and the darker-sounding "Black
Rain."
In all, a very impressive release. Unfortunately, some of the heavier sounds touched upon here have since been proven to
be rarities in the band's catalog...
