Emerald--Rebels of Our Time (1999/Suisa)
Rating--5.6

Sort of an early-Maiden feel from this European indy, but the distortion is lacking--- it has the same "flat" feel of dated late 70s/early 80s material, which really shouldn't be the case here. The vocals have a high-pitched feel, meeting somewhere between Geddy Lee and Phil Lewis.
"Let the Lightning Strike" is heavier and a bit intricate, and "Independence" has some good pace changes.
Both "Forever Free" and the title track are above-average cuts.
