Elegy--Supremacy (1994)
Rating--8.7

Circles in the Sand--RealAudio
Yet another solid power/progressive unit from Europe, with music in the vein of Stratovarius, Symphony X, and early Helloween. Actually, Elegy has the speed and precision of those bands, but also lots of acoustic and piano (along w/ the regular keyboards) work. Smooth, strong vox complete the picture-- Another solid and overlooked band for those in America.
"Windows of the World" starts off with a fast mix of drums and guitar, and a number of other songs follow suit, including "Darkest-Night," the title track, and the heavy, swift, and intricate "Circles in the Sand."
"Angels Grace" has a great buildup from mellow to driving, with deeper vox and cutting riffs throughout. "Poisened Hearts" is strong and soaring, and "Lust For Life" is a tremendously powerful piece with beautiful piano work and spacial, consuming vocals.
