Lost Voyage--RealAudio

Solid power metal from Eidolon, as they combine clear and cutting distortion with some solid and soaring vocals. The band reminds of not-quite-as-thrashing Nevermore, and faster Steel Prophet. Good throughout, though the second half of the disc really picks up in quality and output.
"Scarred" is a good early piece, with several other solid numbers being "Life in Agony" and the faster "Hunt You Down". A slide-moving chorus is the focal point of "From Below," and the steady pace of "Lost Voyage" is grinding and evil.
Closing track "Within the Gates" clocks in at over eighteen minutes, and is a multi-faceted treat.
