Ace Frehley--Frehley's Comet (1987)
Rating--6.0
Ace's reputation and former job position with Kiss got him this record deal---unfortunately. The cheese
factor gets real heavy in places, and with the exception of a couple of strong cuts this is one disc that Frehley might wish
never happened.
"Breakout", "Into the Night", and "Something Moved" do give it some redeeming value. "Breakout"
has a great chorus, with some super drum work along the way. "Into the Night" is highlighted by a smooth chorus with sweet
vocals, and "Something..." is driving from start to finish.
Ace will save face a bit with the second release, so stick around. Here,
however, he lets the late-80s "image" scene get the best of him...
