The Sun Fired Blanks--RealAudio

Lots of effective atmosphere begins to work its way into DT's music with this release, as the usual death vocals are now intermixed with both female vocals, and clean, Opeth-like sections. Those qualities sometimes bring to mind selections such as Lacuna Coil's discs, and Iced Earth's 'Burnt Offerings' (again, simply in terms of atmosphere created).
The band incorporates good rhythms, and mixes their tempos well. Underlying piano and key work adds extra elements.
The multi-dimensional "FreeCard" greets us first, and the steady flow of the heavy/light mixed "ThereIn" follows. The female vocals in "UnDo Control" offset the aggressive music and coinciding male vocals, and "Auctioned" successfully blends piano work with distortion.
All of "The Sun Fired Blanks," "To a Bitter Halt," and "On Your Time" are good, with "Day to End" being a mood piece with nice effects.
