Senses Tied - mp3

’Character’ is the seventh full-length release from Dark Tranquility, and it is yet another excellent platter of Swedish/Gothenberg style metal. There are the usual atmospheric keys present, but this release is dominated overall by aggression, hearkening back to their early days. A fine start to 2005’s metal "season," so to speak.
"Through Smudged Lenses" is a riff-etched joy, both "Mind Matters" and "Senses Tied" are solid highlights, and both "The Endless Feed" and "Dry Run" feature chunky/fast blends.
"The New Build" and first single "Lost to Apathy" are good listens, and the disc-closing "My Negation" is a building, moody piece, with an almost Katatonia feel at times. All in all, ‘Character’ is a very strong release from the band, and clearly one of their best.
