Coming Down--RealAudio

A band founded by Devon Graves--which is actually a pseudonym of Psychotic Waltz's Buddy Lackey. Lackey handles the bulk of the writing and instrumentation here, giving the music a proggy feel with some nice distortion chops. An atmospheric ride in general, but overall perhaps a bit lacking in consistency. Vocally, at times a stealthy, in-the-shadows Don Dokken is brought to mind, and at others Ray Alder's Engine work can be envisioned.
The nasty, snaking chops of "Coming Down" is a bit like a mix between Tool and Dream Theater, and "The Haunted" has a liquid, moving atmosphere.
Other good cuts include "Powertrip," "You," and "One Bullet".
