Unchain the Night--RealAudio
More solid, solid work. The band again evolves slightly, though it's not really evident until 'Back for the
Attack' comes out. Lynch's guitar sound is given even more depth and crispness; it's one of the defining guitar sounds of metal,
at this point in time.
This disc contains the band's biggest hit, "In My Dreams," as well as the anthemic "It's Not Love".
Several unheralded (but excellent) songs come from this one: "Unchain the Night" (very heavy---a headbanger in its own right),
"The Hunter," the ripper "Lightnin' Strikes Again," and the more melodc "Jaded Heart" and "Don't Lie to Me".
The power/melodic sounds here would influence several bands, but Impellitteri would be the
one to truly take it to the next level...
HOT CHOPS--The solo in "In My Dreams" is overlooked because it's so brief and to the point, but it is quite
powerful. Also check out the vocal bridge to "Don't Lie to Me"---'Tell me it's over, don't tell me you care. Don't wanna hear it no
more...' Some of Don's best singing...
