Dokken--Shadowlife (1997)
Rating--5.1
Blah. What a dissapointment! People can whine all they want that a band can change its style if it wants,
etc. etc. That's not the problem I have. The problem is that Dokken doesn't play anywhere near to its talent level on this
album. The songwriting (musically) is extremely simplistic compared to what has proven possible in the past.
If you don't
have any Dokken albums, do NOT buy this one first. Sorry, but I just can't give much of a review for this one. Past the opening
groove of "Puppet on a String," the cupboards are pretty bare...
Post-note, 12/97: This would prove to be Lynch's final album with the band, as he jumps ship to reform
Lynch Mob.
TRACK LIST: Puppet on a String/Cracks in the Ground/Sky Beneath My Feet/Until I Know/Hello/
Convenience Store Messiah/I Feel/Here I Stand/Hard to Believe/Sweet Life/Bitter Regret/I Don't Mind/Until I Know
