Dokken--Breaking the Chains (1983)
Rating--6.0
Breaking the Chains--RealAudio
I suppose a decent debut for 1983, but the band's subsequent works really overshadow this disc. The title
track and the final cut, "Paris is Burning," are ultra-solid tracks that the band still plays live today. Even though often considered a "glam" band,
this is really the only album that the sound seems to match that label ("Live to Rock," "Young Girls," etc.). I know a lot of Dokken
fans (as well as collectors in general) are often searching for this on CD, but if you don't fit into one of those categories you should
pass on it. However, definitely get the others...
HOT CHOPS--The above mentioned "Paris is Burning". Check out George Lynch's guitar work leading into
the song--- A tast of what's to come...
