Def Leppard--On Through the Night (1980)
Rating--6.5
**U.S. Sales Certification--Platinum**
Your basic stripped-down Marshall sound from the boys on this debut, as they come across a bit like the heavier '70s
Kiss sounds. The same sounds heard here would go on to influence the likes of
Tesla, Fastway, and others. However, like those groups, the Leps themselves would improve greatly
in the future.
Strong riffs pace "Satellite" and "Rocks Off," and "Rock Brigade" displays the flowing type of chorus the band
will later perfect. Other highlights include "It Could Be You," "Wasted," and "Answer to the Master."
