Dirty Looks--Cool From the Wire (1988/Atlantic) Rating--7.4

Thumping, raw, and nasty, mixing shades of old AC/DC with bits of the the mid-'80s Kix sound. To further the comparisons, the vocals are a nice Scott/Whitman mesh. Simplistic, but serving its purpose.
The title track's flowing chorus starts the party romp going, and is followed by the steady bar drive of "It's Not theWay You Rock."
"Oh Ruby" got the band a little video time with its raunchy AC/DC strut, and another steady drive shows up in "Put a Spell On You." Disc closer "Get Off" is paced and steady, wrapping up a decent little ride.
