The Last in Line--RealAudio
The chord choices on this album give it a "lighter" feel than its predecessor, somehow. There are more keyboards sprinkled in, and the songs don't have the same overall dark feel that was present on 'Holy Diver'. Still, some strong cuts, as Dio continues to work melodic and powerful vocals into a biting metal style.
Campbell's guitar style remains crisp and electric, and RJD's voice stays at its peak. Highlights include the fast-paced "We Rock," "Evil Eyes," "Egypt (The Chains are On)," and the plodding, heavy-footed title song.
HOT CHOPS: "Egypt" is one of my favorite Dio songs, as it has a slow, almost mesmerizing main riff to it that holds throughout the song. Strong stuff.
