Death-The Sound of Perseverance (1998/Nuclear Blast) |
||
The band's last studio offering before the death of founder/guitarist/vocalist Chuck Schuldiner (though he would record with Control Denied), this is also arguably
their best. There are lots of time and riff changes, and these aspects actually strengthen the band's music when mixed with their hybrid speed/thrash attack. A solid
release, and as it turns out a swan song for Schuldiner as a part of the band that helped create a subgenre of music. TRACK LIST: Scavenger of Human Sorrow/Bite the Pain/Spirit Crusher/Story to Tell/Flesh and the Power it Holds/Voice of the Soul/To Forgive/A Moment of Clarity/ Painkiller
