Chasing the Dragon--RealAudio
Mystical power metal, in the same vein as Hammerfall and Nocturnal Rites. The vocals are solid and fitting, and there is thick chordwork throughout. One of the
strongest points is the crunching distortion and rhythms. The sound is very updated, but in a way it also hearkens back to some classic 80's sounds as well; ala Armored
Saint, perhaps.
There are numerous solid cuts, including "Chasing the Dragon," "Kingdom of the Damned," "The Prophecy," and "The 7th Day".
Both "Save Us" and "Heavy Metal in
the Night" are steady with some nasty riff work, and "Hail to the King" is good at album's end.
