The ripping project from Savatage's Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery. Similar song setups to the classic Savatage mold, with with an updated sound. Chris Oliva-like slide chops are everywhere; fans of the old will eat this one up!
Opening track "The Altar" is heavy and fast, and is the first of many highlights. "Don't Talk to Me" is chunky and good, "I Hate, You Hate" has some rolling riff work, and "Innocent Victim" is solid.
Both "Season of the Witch" and "All For One, None For All" have some of the trademark 'Tage riff cranking, and listen to that back-bending sway rhythm in "The Chair"--complete with a second-half pickup!
The free flow of "The Picture's Wild" is cutting, slicing, and heavy, and the snake-attitude of "Lost in the Dark" lurks in fine fashion.
