Cruella--Shock the World (1990)
Rating--6.0
This second release has a few style-related changes of note. One is the departure of the previous singer, as two of the
remaining members take over and split the duties. Not too bad of a job, but the range is limited compared to the past. Next,
the music itself is almost all thrash, as the fantasy element has disappeared.
"Mr. Potato Head" has a chunky guitar-based
rhythm, "Cruella" follows with a heavy chug, and the swiftness of "Living Death" catches the ear. Some high points, but not
quite up to par (mainly due to originality) to the previous effort. **Note: This disc has been re-released as part of
a 2-for-1 package from Must Have Music (along with 'Vengeance is Mine')--the contact is on the links
page. A nice treat for the true collector.
