Vote With a Bullet--RealAudio
C.O.C. had been around awhile with a huge underground punk following before this blockbuster achievement surfaced-- although this one drips of pure metal. The first album with guitarist Pepper Keenan and one-time vocalist Karl Agell, this one propelled the band into popularity with Sabbath-influenced (though much updated) metal. The first single, "Dance Of The Dead," followed by "Vote With A Bullet," officially stamped to perfection what C.O.C. had been trying so hard to accomplish for years. An extremely solid album, with tight chops, technical-thrash riffs and grooves, and untouchable drum beats.
Definitely check this one out folks... Some people call this the band's moment of glory, and I gotta say, I must agree. Other highlights include "Mine Are The Eyes Of God," "Painted Smiling Face," and "Break The Circle."
HOT CHOPS: The axe walk in the middle of "Dance Of The Dead" shreds. "Painted Smiling Face" has a chorus to be reckoned with. Also check the evil intro to "Bullet"..... "The devil in god..." -- chop riff of all chop riffs!
Also, though slower, the ephemeral "Shallow Ground" is mood guitar at its best...
