The third demo from Core Device, and the delivery now is full of fast and cutting power metal. Not quite as thick as Iced Earth, but much of the music is reminiscent of
that band's lighter, more intricate material. The Maiden overtones continue at times, and there is also some Symphony X rapid-work, perhaps. The vocals are deep for
the most part, at times even hinging on goth. Continued improvement from the band; with big-label production they could easily impress many of today's metalheads.
All three of the featured tracks here are good, with opener "Burning Away" perhaps being the top spot. Definite promise is shown, giving further credence to the U.S.
underground metal scene.
