All of the songs on this release were written by Ten's Gary Hughes, and the disc was produced by him as well. Because of those factors, the hard rock (and Ten-like) slant should be expected. Very vocal and melody oriented, and the instruments are well-played throughout.
Some underlying riff work accentuates "The Pain," and "Medusa" is one of the heavier tracks to be featured. All of "Shelter From the Night," "Hydra," and "The Light" are good.
