Catastrophic--The Cleansing (2001/Metal Blade)
Rating--8.1
The Cleansing--RealAudio
Catastrophic features Obituary guitarist Trevor Peres, and is a tasty little Death Metal experience. There are some slower-paced moments, while the faster material
remains chunky as well, which makes for some brutal pit fare! The lead work reminds of early Slayer; a good release.
Twelve tracks with very few lulls in the actions. "Lab Rats," "Messiah Pacified," and "The Cleansing" are the top spots, with the slow head-movers "Hate Trade"
and "Terraform" showing that the band can shift gears with ease.
Fans of the genre will enjoy this.
