Brutal Planet--RealAudio
Alice continues to evolve with the times, as this 2000 release features low-down and nasty distortion galore, providing tons of vitality. By far his heaviest effort to date, and the man's voice is still solid. How long has he been at this?? A rock/metal godfather, and worthy of your attention.
The mechanical crunch of the title track breaks the seal, and more solidity follows. The harmonic-rolling "Wicked Young Man" is good, a heavy and energetic flow moves through "Sanctuary," and the bass-winding chorus of "Blow Me a Kiss" is strong.
"It's the Little Things" rolls along, and though slower, "Pessi-mystic" still moves with a heavy frame.
Two absolutely nasty tracks show up near disc's end, as "Gimme" is full of muted chord chugging, and "Cold Machines" ends the offering in style.
