Bride of Chucky--Soundtrack (1998/CMC)
Rating--8.3
Static-X -- Bled For Days
A nice little metal collection, and a good reason to try and catch the flick, as all but two of the tracks actually appear at
some point in the movie. Several top cuts from recent albums appear, as well as some nice lesser-known cuts. The songs also
do a good job of covering different genres of metal, which keeps the disc from getting in a rut.
Some of the established tunes include White Zombie's "Thunder Kiss '65,"
Judas Priest's "Bloodstained," and Bruce Dickinson's "Trumpets of Jericho".
A funky blues chunk is provided by the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies on "Boogie King," and Coal Chamber
provide a creepy, Manson-esque track with "Blisters".
Great Peter Steele vox infect "Love You to Death," and Powerman
5000's "Son of X51" has a chunky flow. "Love for Sale" is a romping track from Motorhead, and
one of the disc's most impressive tracks comes from Static-X: "Bled for Days" has a heavy, thick crunch, reminding of Zombie,
Fear Factory, and more. Nice stuff---both the song, and the collection.
