Black Sabbath--Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1974)
Rating--6.4
**U.S. Sales Certification--Platinum**

Not one of Sabbath's better efforts, though mainly due to song construction-- the instrumental aspects are all in fine form, including Ozzy himself. Typical plodding guitar sound, but still heavier than most anything else in the day.
The title track's opening riff is a cruncher, and the bass/lead guitar intro on "National Acrobat" shines. "Spiral Architect" actually has shades of Zeppelin mixed into, and the acoustic "Fluff," while interesting in an experimental way, doesn't really fit into the Sabbath "aura".
An important cog in the overall development and history of the band, but there are better Oz-led experiences from these guys if you're looking for a starter.
