Children of the Grave--RealAudio
*Cough cough* into "Sweet Leaf"... and he Ozz-man's vocals, right from the
beginning, demand attention. Good overall sound, song layout, and muscianship here, as well as being almost as steady as
'Paranoid'... though much less popular. Hmmmm.
"Children Of The Grave" could rule the soundtrack
for any monster movie, while "Solitude" reminds one of Sabbath's knack for
gloom and doom mood music. "Into the Void" gave grunge its name-- too bad they couldn't be this good.
Highlights: The aforementioned "Void" practically formed Soundgarden, and the influence
"Children Of The Grave" had on White Zombie is clearly defined as well (check out the BS tribute).
Every Sabbath song has shining moments, usually based on Geezer and Iommi's untouchable dance. You can't get this
stuff no more-- back before metal really had a name, only emotional sludge.
