Black Sabbath - Forbidden (1995/EMI-Capitol)
Rating - 6.0

Tony Martin is once again at the vocal helm for this offering, and an interesting side note arises: because he appeared on five different Sabbath studio offerings, he is second to only Ozzy in terms of vocalist-longevity. Though the band had few really "big" sellers during his tenure, he still contributed to the career of one of metal's finest.
Unfortunately for fans of the band, this release does not offer a whole lot, in terms of good-quality metal. Some decent riffs are sprinkled here and there, but the songs and effort as a whole sound fairly uninspired. A descending, head-moving rhythm within "Can't Get Close Enough" is a definite treat, with "Guilty as Hell" having some sliding and pulling moments. A doomy, crawling feel lends "The Illusion of Power" some credence, but not much else stands out a whole lot, sad to say.
