Black Sabbath--Dehumanizer (1992)
Rating--8.0
Time Machine--RealAudio
"Waiting for the revolution..." Dio sings on the opening line of
'Dehumanizer'. Revolution indeed. Ronnie James takes another stab as frontman of the Sabbath brigade
after a 10 year hiatus, and does a good job of picking up right where 'Mob Rules' left off.
Geezer is steady as ever and Iommi's guitars haven't sounded this good in
years. "TV Crimes" is pure Dio adrenaline, while "Time Machine" rips with
unforgiving mercy. Sabbath needed this-- they had been stuck in limbo for a
few years. Like a cornered snake, the band strikes back full force, and score
high with this one.
Other highlights... Iommi ignites "Master Of
Insanity" with bull-charging chops and a great sing-song chorus. Skip the disc forward on "Sins Of The
Father" to 2:20... oh my!
