Black Sabbath--Born Again (1983)
Rating--7.5
Ian Gillen joins the group on vocals for this effort, crooning along a little like the gruff Jon Oliva in his early
Savatage days. A number of strong riffs are intertwined into fast songs, as this is largely an overlooked disc-- as is the
case with several of the
non-Ozzy or Dio-fronted Sabbath efforts.
"The Dark," "Zero the Hero," and "Disturbing the Priest" all have more than their
fair share of nasty chops, with bass giving strong effect to both "Digital Bitch" and "Hot Line."
The title track is a slow mover,
and is a good mix with the rest of the upbeat pace. A strong album.
