The Oath--RealAudio

This is down n' dirty, grooving Southern metal, in the same vein as Down, Black Label Society, and a little COC. At some of the lighter moments it also sounds a bit like Pride and Glory. The distortion is cranking, but at the same time toned down and thick, thanks in large part to the band's bludgeoning three-guitar attack.
The highlights roll like thunder, as virtually every track stands out. "Desperate Times Desperate Means" is strong, "Sad Wings" is a slow-cooked mover, there's a bottom-heavy churn to "SPP," and "The Oath" is all groove and attitude.
The band succeeds with the lighter and slower fare as well, as tracks like "Missin' You" and "My World" also make good impressions.
Good, meat-and-potatoes grinding.
