Walk Don't Run--RealAudio
Another band from the MTM label that is a culmination of the late '80s rock/metal sound--without the pomp and media image. Early Skid Row type music in places, shades of Firehouse and heavy Hardline, and some of the 'Pull'-era Winger material. The vox are smooth, and there are plenty of slashing and swift chops.
A number of tracks are real solid, including "Midnight Angel," "Walk Don't Run," and the anthemic "Blame It on Rock". "Whereyawannago" has some nice in-chorus riffs, and a raw lead/rhythm pickup at the end of "Shot Down by Love" reminds a bit of Tesla.
A heavy chord and pull-off backbone is the strength of "Three Chords of Steel," and "Crystal," while opening with a power ballad feel, evolves into a thick chorus crunch.
It's good to see MTM giving bands like this a shot--and their catalog is chock full of them. If you're a fan of the hard rock and smooth, riff metal genre, then take heart---there's still solid music being made.
